There are nine points covered here, the point of this is to get you thinking and also to challenge you. The key verse used here is Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart, do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take.
Here goes…
1 – How much Trust is too much?
Trusting God is a life long thing not just a something that happens when we are in trouble. We should trust God 100% this means all the time not sometimes or in some situations but all the times in all situations regardless of what they are.
2 – Do You Trust God Yourself or Both?
Something we need to know is that we cannot in anyway rely on our own understanding, because we really do not have one. We have or should have only what the Holy Spirit reveals to us and what the bible says to us, we sometimes say we use wisdom, but then what we really do is trust in ourselves using wisdom as an excuse. Wisdom is given to us through the bible! And in proverbs 3:5 it says never rely on what you think you know. And if we do not rely on what we think we know what do we rely on? We rely on the word of God and the revelation of the Holy Spirit! Amen.
3 – What does everything Mean?
(See Proverbs 3:5-6) Remember the lord in everything you do, this means giving him glory for everything you do, committing your whole life for him seeking his will in all things, not just some things but all things no matter how little they are. Look at it this way trust is a practical expression of the commitment we have in God and his word. We can’t be committed to some one if we are not close to them and we can’t trust people if we don’t know them. The better we get to know them so does our trust grow for them. It is the same with trusting God. As our knowledge of Gods word grows, so will our love and Trust for God.
4 – How do I know when I’m not Trusting God?
We know we are not trusting God completely when we find our selves living a life filled with worry and we are not at constant peace, if this is still to any of us, it means we must learn to trust God more, it is a process.
5 – What Happens when you get used to Trusting God?
When we get in the habit of trusting God we get a peace accompanied by a confidence without any worry or concern that it’s going to be all right regardless of the situation. Though sometimes we may feel worried or stressed or things may seem to get over our heads we would always know that God is there for us because we have learned to trust in him constantly even for the little things.
We shouldn’t be able to measure how much we trust God; this is because our whole life should be based on trusting him. From when we wake up to when we go to sleep!
It can be really easy to trust ourselves sometimes especially for little things, like food, water and other things that we see and use without a second thought. We should all begin to ask God to help us to trust him more for little things, this depends our reliance on God and that empowers our walk with God as we don’t depend on him for Just big things but little things as well. When we exclude God from the tiny details of our lives that is a whole area of our lives we have completely refused to let him take over, because it’s little things we neglect the fact that God has made it all possible, and we forget (Myself Inclusive) that the little things in our life make up our whole life.
6 – How Much do You Really Trust God ?
This is a reality check session, I want you to take 30 seconds and consider things in your life that you haven’t been trusting God with, and think about how much you actually do trust him, do you trust him for small things or big things only?
7 – I Was Being Serious!
I meant what I said above; I have this section to re-emphasize the Point. PLEASE DO IT! Consider how much you actually trust God. 30 Second’s won’t hurt you.
8 – What do you do when you face a situation that seems impossible?
We should trust God, trust is defined as: Firm belief in the reliability, truth, ability or strength of someone, in this case God; this means that we should have firm belief in the reliability of God, his truth and his ability and strength to take care of any situation and to give us constant peace and see us through any situation even if it may take time, though we may fail to trust God sometimes, we must always consciously try to, he will help us!
9 – The greatest enemy of trust is pride?
We could sometimes become proud without even knowing it, this is mostly when we start to think that it is us doing something, no matter how little it is, and then what happens is that instead of acknowledging that God is in control of everything regardless or how big or small it may be, and thank him for the blessing we have, we praise ourselves because we think it was really small and we think its too small to be bothering God with! It is him not you! No matter how small it is. And when we thank God for the little things he has done for us, he will do greater things for us.
Summary
We know he is God and have given our lives to him, but do we trust him personally?
We need to acknowledge the fact that we are like puppets, and God is the puppet master he is in total control. God has power to influence your will or the will of any other human being, if he wills it to be that way. He is God, he has absolute control over all things and if he didn’t want you to be reading this, even if you have free will; if he didn’t want you to, you wouldn’t!
Those that trust him are totally dependent on him and no one else!
- Not what the doctor says
- Not how much we can see in our bank accounts
- Not what we think
- Not even how we feel!
Trusting God brings blessing! But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence. Jeremiah 17:7
Conclusion
Our task now is to build up our confidence and trust in God; when you find yourself in a difficult situation try reminding yourself whom you trust by saying my hope is in the lord and my confidence is in God! (Say that out Loud, it does something to my spirit when I do, Go on give it a shot!) This would then start to automatically come to our mind when we face a hopeless situation! When we put our hopeless situation in God it becomes hopeful, because just as God can breathe life into a dead person, he can breathe hope into any situation, and when we learn to trust God constantly and it becomes a habit, we become “like trees growing near a stream that have our roots sent out to the water, not afraid when the hot weather comes, because their leaves stay green; they have no worries when there is no rain; they keep on bearing fruit “(Jeremiah 17 vs. 8).

If you refuse to see your sin as God does, you cannot escape His eternal judgment. If you want to deny your guilt or hide your own sinfulness, you’ll never discover the cure for sin. And if you try to justify your sin, you’ll forfeit the justification of God. Until you understand how offensive your sin is before God, you can never know Him.
Life can seem like a journey of Ups & Down’s sometimes, good things happen and bad things also inevitably happen (unfortunately) and a most common question amongst both believers and unbelievers is, why did God let these bad things happen? Is it because we’ve been bad, or to punish us? Well the answer to that is NO.
Hello God’s beautiful people, I woke up this morning feeling so blessed, it was a feeling that regardless of what i’m going through or do go through things are going to be ok, and that no matter what happens, no matter what i think, no matter how bad or discouraged i feel things are going to get better. It came with a realisation that God is constantly getting involved in my life, teaching me, training me, helping daily to be who I was born to be.
